    • Mr. Dunlap, owning property immediately across the Bush River has found Hammond land grants on the back side of his property on the Bush River. 34.431,-81.87153. This information provided by Lt.Col. Joel Rexford, USA(Ret.). GPS mark made by JR.

    • An old road bed is visible on the property leading down to the Bush River.

    • The owner of the property (Mr. Payne) said that for many years there had been a sign on the property, placed by a local historical society, that identified this site as that for the "Battle at Hammond's Store". He had removed the sign when he built his home there.

    • Since the battle was a dragoon raid and a surprise attack, the area of the skirmish likely spread quickly in several directions.
