      1 May 1781

      Henry Hamptonís dragoons surprised a guard of the Prince of Wales American Volunteers at Fridayís Ferry near Fort Granby. Hamptonís men killed thirteen of them. Hampton spotted another party on the road going towards the fort and ambushed them, killing five more.
