Swift Creek and Fishing Creek, North Carolina
7 May 1781
On the day after the skirmish at Peacock Bridge another local militia unit attempted to stop Cornwallis at Swift Creek. Tarleton again dispersed the militia.
Six miles from Swift Creek the same militia attempted to stop Cornwallis’s army again at Fishing Creek, but they were scattered again by Tarleton.
