- Site is located per James Gregory, based on local lore. Gregory is long-time surveyor of Spartanburg Co. SC. This high elevation is a more logical site than that identified by Mr. Lawrence, below.
- James Lawrence, long-time editor and owner of the Landrum newspaper, believed the site was about 0.1 mile toward Earle's Bridge on the west side.
