  Captain Godfrey Dreher and his family drove off a detachment of "Regulars" that had been sent from Fort Granby to arrest him.

• Dreher family site describes a mill on Twelve Mile Creek near the Saluda River. Basis of site location. A later mill site and possible alternative site is described near the present Dreher Shoals Dam location approximately 3.6 miles upstream on the Saluda River.
